The Types of Light Bulbs For Homes and Offices

Let us discuss how does a light bulb work. First, we will find out that a light bulb is a diode, and a filament fills the diode, and when the filament gets energized, it will emit light. The intensity of the filament determines the brightness of the morning. The electrical current passing through the bulb can be measured in volt, ampere, or milliamps. The other thing that you need to know about how a light bulb works is that the bulb has two diodes, one for each color.

When the light gets turned on, the electrons in the diodes get excited and jump to the next level. This creates a chemical reaction called Quenching. Quenching is a gradual process, and the filament will get hot, which makes it stick to the side of the diodes.

The next thing that happens is that the current flowing in the bulb will change the energy available in the diodes, and the color of the light will get shifted. The third and last step is that the current in the filament will get absorbed by the material that makes up the bulb's base. The light will then get inverted, and the light bulb will turn off automatically.

Different Types of Light Bulbs

What are the different types of light bulbs? If you are a regular buyer of lamps and bulbs for your home or office, you will probably have heard of the typical household "standard" bulb: the incandescent light bulb. Of course, there are many other types of bulbs, and the ones you buy for use in your home will come in many different varieties, but for our purposes here, let's stick to the most common of them all.

The incandescent light bulb is responsible for causing millions of skin cancer deaths each year, and it is also responsible for causing dark circles, wrinkles, headaches, asthma, allergies, and many other ailments. So, let's take a look at some of the different types of bulbs you may be unfamiliar with.

Incandescent Light Bulbs

An incandescent light bulb is an electrical light with a metal wire filament wound on its outer surface with heat-resistant material so that when it is turned on, the filament glows. The filament is covered in a glass case with either a sealed gas or inert gas to prevent oxidation from destroying the filament.

Incandescent lamps use electricity to convert energy from light into heat, which then powers a small electric bulb. The basic design of an incandescent light consists of a light source plus a filament which can be either open or closed. A small gap provides the electrical current to the filament.

Halogen Incandescent Light Bulbs

Halogen incandescent bulbs, otherwise called HID or high-intensity discharge light bulbs, are one of the most popular types of lighting today. They provide a brilliant light source and have become relatively easy to install in all kinds of locations. However, if you will replace your current lighting system with a Halogen bulb, you must consider the pros and cons first before making any decision.

This bulb is designed to run at high temperatures, and it also uses a lot of energy compared to other conventional incandescent bulbs. This means that it is essential to regularly maintain your lumens lighting system to keep the cost of electricity that you pay for as low as possible.

Fluorescent Light Bulbs

Fluorescent light bulbs are one of the most common light bulbs used in the home and office. They are highly safe for human eyes, especially children, and do not create harmful UV or UVB radiation levels. Fluorescent light bulbs also use one of the minor amounts of electricity compared to all other types of bulbs, making them cost-effective for use in home and office applications.

These fluorescent light bulbs also have shallow maintenance requirements and last up to 50 years or longer without having to be replaced. Fluorescent light bulbs also produce a very bright light for many applications. There are many different types of fluorescent light bulbs available for consumers to purchase, so it is essential to understand the differences between each type before making a purchase.

Compact Fluorescent Bulbs (CFLs)

A compact fluorescent bulb, also known as compact fluorescent light, is an energy-efficient lamp designed to substitute an incandescent bulb; however, some types only fit into incandescent light fixtures intended for compact fluorescent bulbs.

Unlike other light bulbs that utilize the same chemical reactions needed to release energy, compact fluorescents do not need any chemical reaction to release their energy. In addition, unlike traditional lights, it does not contain any mercury or other toxic chemicals. Compact fluorescent lamps are also environment-friendly because they use about half the energy of incandescent.

LED Light Bulbs

LED light bulbs are becoming popular with home and industrial designers who want to add a touch of design and elegance to their surroundings. An LED lamp or LED light bulb is an electrical light that produces light using a light-emitting diode or LEDs. Compared to other kinds of lights available in the market, the LED lights are more energy-efficient, making them cost-effective even for small establishments.

This is one of the reasons why they are commonly used in high-profile places like government buildings and other corporate buildings. Companies who use this type of lighting fixtures in their offices found out that using them increases productivity and reduces costs. In addition, businesses located in industrial areas can take advantage of this type of lighting system.
